We’re halfway to our goal!
Our goal is to raise $30,000 in our Annual Appeal to sustain our support for prenatal & postpartum families.
Prenatal and postpartum support should be available and accessible to every family—no matter their circumstances. That’s why there are no barriers to accessing our services.
Why is this support so essential?
New parents face sleep deprivation, identity shifts, physical recovery, and the overwhelming responsibility of caring for a newborn. Compassionate support helps buffer these stresses, lowering the risk of postpartum anxiety and depression.
Feeling alone or unsupported is one of the strongest predictors of postpartum mood disorders. Human connection increases resilience, confidence, and a sense of safety. This is why our Postpartum Angel program has been a treasured resource in Central Vermont for more than 30 years; last year 95% of Good Beginnings families said their Postpartum Angel was an important part of their postpartum support system.
When parenthood is valued and supported, families thrive—and thriving families build resilient communities.
Will you donate today so we can continue offering help to every new parent who needs it?
Donations of all sizes go far in our small organization:
- $25 provides three families with Welcome Bags
- $50 provides space for our educational workshops
- $100 provides a baby carrier to a mom or dad who cannot afford one
- $300 helps recruit, train and match three families with a Postpartum Angel

Our Story
Good Beginnings was founded in 1991 by three mothers in Northfield, VT who recognized a growing need for support for new parents due to the combined effects of shorter postpartum hospital stays and a diminished role for extended family and other traditional sources of support.
