About Bloom: The Story of the World’s First Flower
Over 125 million years ago plants did something they had never done before and the world was changed forever! Bloom is the story of the world’s first flower complete with a brief description of the evolutionary history of flowering plants, educational diagrams and fun facts for flower fanatics everywhere! Bloom is appropriate for kids ages 6 and up. This book was written during the Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020. Author Alex McConduit had an idea and newfound free time so he decided to bring his idea to life!
About the Author
Since 2010, Alex has visited schools all over the world to share his books and to encourage kids to read, write and follow their dreams. For these efforts, Alex was honored as one of Gambit Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40. After publishing a few of his own books, McConduit decided to help the young people he worked with become authors as well. McConduit founded W.R.I.T.E. and began working with charter schools in New Orleans to show students what self publishing was all about. Alex was also selected as an honorary board member to First Book, an organization that provides new books to children in need, addressing one of the most important factors affecting literacy; access to books. Recently, Alex released his new book Bloom: The Story of the World’s First Flower, as a way to stay productive during the 2020 pandemic. Now Alex is connecting with schools and organizations that feature nature in their curriculum as a way to bridge the gap between society and the natural world for our future’s sake!
