Community Earth Day Celebration
April 21, 2018

Join us on Saturday, April 21 for the Co-op’s annual Community Earth Day Celebration. There will be a Clothing, Book & Media Swap, kids activities, 5% shopping discount for member-owners, and MORE! Check out our event schedule below:
Outdoor Activities
8am-2pm Join our Community Clothing, Book & Media Swap! This swap is a great way to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Free swaps divert items from the waste stream and redistributes them through our community. How does it work? Bring your gently used spring and summer clothing and previously loved books, music, and video games and take home free new-to-you items. All items should be clean and in decent condition. This event is open to everyone and you don’t need to donate to receive. Central Vermont Solid Waste District (CVSWD) will collect all the leftover swap items at the end of the day.
Have old cell phones and dead batteries hanging around the house? CVSWD will be onsite collecting phones and batteries during the swap. Wondering where to take your old TV or computer? Learn more about the Additional Recyclables Collection Center located in Barre.
10am-2pm Kids can enjoy face painting by the amazing Shirley from Face Mania and have fun playing in the solar-powered bouncy house provided by SunCommon (weather permitting)! We’ll also have family-friendly activities happening in our kids’ tent. Learn about salamanders and amphibian migration with North Branch Nature Center, hear stories and enjoy hands-on activities with Kellogg Hubbard Library, and plant organic seedlings to take home from Cate Farm at our gardening table.
