Downtown Randolph Block Party

Come party to celebrate the progress we’ve made this year as a community. And enjoy the beautiful spring in your forested downtown!

The Block Party will run from noon to night with games and food to eat, and things to learn about and get involved in! Enjoy hot dogs and nature walks.

Thank you to the National Life Group for making this event possible. Some more whys to swing by: (more to be announced)

– Food! Trucks and booths of all of the kinds! Enjoy ice cream and coffee at the Green Light Cafe, or some sandwiches at Chefs Deli. Even have a meal over some games down at Valley Bowl. The spread will span from hot dogs to samosa

– Learn about the projects and accomplishments of local nonprofits and groups. Tentatively featuring:
—The Project Based Learning program at RUHS
—RASTA
—The RACDC
—The RBBs Community Resilience Organization
—RBB’s University
—High Horses Therapeutic Riding
—Building a Local Economy South Royalton
—Kimball Public Library
—Arts Bus
—Playhouse Theatre Coop
—and so many more! Discover volunteer opportunities and the million ways to have a good time helping your community

– Hang out with the residents of the Randolph House on their back lawn! Participate in tournaments on their new Bocce Ball court as part of the day’s Lawn Game Olympics (sign ups to occur through May as well as on the day of). Compete, spectate, cheer and get rowdy to support your favorite bocce-ers!

– See the shady spring green with tours through the downtown floodplain forest trails. Map out the species living in the forest as part of the iNaturalist BioBlitz we’ll be operating throughout that afternoon. June should be a great time to catch some of the first floodplain flowers. If you’re reading this in April/May, the vernal pools should be in the process of hosting congresses of resident amphibians! Come by with a flashlight and sturdy boots after a rain and let us know what and how many you see

– Look out for info on workdays through May to help the town beautify and prep for the big day!
