For many years, the town of Waterbury has chosen to celebrate the 4th July the weekend before the 4th.
Sometimes we celebrate a few days before everyone else and sometimes we might be ten days early.
This tradition has become known at Not Quite Independence Day and the abbreviation NQID has stuck.
The weekend activities include a parade, concert, games, contests, and fireworks.
The Waterbury Rotary Club works tirelessly for the first 6 months of the year to organize and develop these activities. All donations go to support their many community efforts. Learn more about Rotary.
