An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Monday, repeating until June 21, 2021
Storytime is back! Spring Outdoor Storytimes!
Three Mondays in June at 10am: June 7th, 14th & 21st
Storytimes will be held outside at the Jaquith Public Library. They are geared for children birth through six years and their families, but all are welcome.
Sign up required for the sessions you wish to attend.
Space is limited to 10 children per session.
THREE WAYS TO SIGN-UP!
Email: jaquithyouth@gmail.com (please include name(s) & age(s) and which session(s) you would like to attend, and if we have permission to use any photos of your child on your website/social media.)
Call: 426-3581
Come in: Sign up sheet inside the library.
Please wear a mask to arrive and get settled, and anytime you will be interacting with others outside your pod. There will be physically-distanced spaces marked for families to sit – we encourage you to bring a blanket and sun protection. Please stay settled in one spot or feel free to roam around the fields if your little one needs to move. After stories, there will be a related craft — project stations will be set up with plenty of space!
Storytime Schedule & Session Descriptions
June 7th – Observing Nature
We’ll read some colorful books full of plants and animals. After stories, you and your child can roam our fields gathering a few natural objects. Then, using what you’ve collected as inspiration, make some watercolor masterpieces using natural bark canvases!
June 14th – Sheep!
Baa! Join us outside for some sheep and wool tales! Then, dig your fingers into colorful yarns and learn how to finger-knit. This is a great first project for tiny fingers.
June 21st – Solstice celebration
Sun! Light! Warmth! Life! Celebrate the longest day of the year with some sunshiny books. After stories, we’ll learn yoga sun salutations, and make some summer/sun-inspired art. www.jaquithpubliclibrary.org/y
